A history of Rugby at Chichester High School for Boys

Andy Turner is researching the history of rugby at Chi Hi – it’s growth and development. He would be pleased to receive missing photographs from the Archive. These are listed and if anyone has a copy they can make available, please see Andy’s note:
“Could you please send out a email to all Old Cicestrians with a plea for a 1st XV team photograph for the following seasons as it appears I never located them for the 50th & 60th Anniversary Rugby Dinners 1994 & 2004.”
> 1953/54
> 1959/60 think a Tom Jeffers of Worthing might be the contact
> 1965/66
> 1966/67
> 1976/77
> 1983/84
> 1989/90
> Can’t think why the last 3 are missing!!
> Many thanks for you help thus far

‘Giddy’ Gahan was the initial teacher who instigated Rugby to be played by a school team, originally called ‘The Grasshoppers’.

So Andy also asks if anyone has any vivid memories that I could include on Mr Gahan to let him know!! (By the time I was at Chi Hi Gahan taught Latin and looked after we Catholic boys at the school – Bill Allen)
