Miss Lewis did not teach me much English! Anyway here goes. I passed my 11+ in 1958 and started at School in September. I was never a high flyer educationally but the school taught me enough to give me good long-term employment with West Sussex County Council from when I left to retirement in 2005.
I have many good memories of the School and very few bad ones. My father-in-law was also a pupil in the 1930s and many of his teachers also taught me. I always liked to see them in their gowns and full regalia. They were teachers who commanded respect unlike the T-shirted, jean-clad teachers of today.
