Ken Murch

More reactions to the memories of Ken Murch, and specifically his nickname ‘Bogey’

Here is a recent e-mail from an Old Cicestrian:

As an old Cicestrian myself (Sept ’71 – May ’76), I was interested to read on this website about Mr Murch, a teacher who taught me Biology in the first year and maybe my second year also, and whom I had great respect for. Seems he had a good innings, reaching 92, and next time I go to Tangmere Museum I will have a look round for his memorial. Someone asked why his nickname was ‘Bogey’. I always assumed it was because of the rather large, dark wart he had on his face that to us infantile pupils resembled a huge bogey. I can’t quite decide if it was on his chin or the side of his nose.
