Dear Member,
In these difficult times, memories of “days in the sun” at Chi-High no doubt come flooding back. Cricket, Athletics and, inevitably, exams filled our days. Not so easy for the children today with no sport and home learning. I discovered some photographs I took at the 1988 60th Anniversary re-union which are now on the website. There are shots of the School Hall and Quadrangles from the old buildings, which are soon to be demolished as the contract for demolition has been made. And sadly included is a photograph of Doug Murgatroyd, former OC Chairman, who has recently died. We have also heard of the death of Tom Jeffers who succumbed to Covid-19. Our condolences to their families.
On a brighter note, a small group is still hoping to go to Jersey in September if “The Rock” is released from quarantine. And as usual, we will have the AGM and Christmas luncheon in December with Andrew Berriman as the speaker. Remember the Old Cicestrian Facebook page is a good way to keep in touch with old friends.
