A contribution about Ron Austin from Trevor Wignall

I was pleased to know Ronald for the last 12 months of his life in Donnington House Care Home, where I was visiting a friend there. They died within a few weeks of each other. We had lunch each week, sometimes with Yvonne also. He was happy to learn I was a pupil at CHSB 1965-67. I used to “bowl” him a satsuma across the dining table for his dessert, which amused him. He had met PM James Callaghan in his previous career in Wales.  Whilst he was unable to walk, he was alert and followed current events with a sharpness of mind. A true gentleman indeed.   Trevor Wignall
