Chris Parr attended Chichester High School for Boys from 1953 through 1961. He won a State Scholarship and an Open Scholarship in Classics to Queen’s College Oxford.
Chris had few peers at school in the cerebral department, usually winning the “Form Prize” in the lower school. He had also taken an interest in Drama, taking parts in the annual school play. However, I think it was at Oxford that he developed a keen interest in the theatre. At the time I did hear that he had become bored with studying Greek and Latin and transferred his studies to Chinese (Perhaps these were only whispers) and that he spent more time involved in University theatre than on his academic studies.
